Joan Jett, Dave Grohl and Miley Cyrus performed together at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame last night (April 18).

The trio came together to play some of Jett's back catalogue as she was inducted into the Hall Of Fame, with her band The Blackhearts.

They played 'Bad Reputation', 'Crimson & Clover' and 'Cherry Bomb' - by The Runaways, the all-girl '70s punk group Jett was once a member of - together. You can watch a clip of the performance at the top of the page.

Cyrus had previously given a speech inducting Jett into the Hall Of Fame, during which, Rolling Stone reports, she described her as "superwoman". She also told the audience of the first time she "wanted to have sex with Joan Jett."

Starr was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame last night (April 18)

Yoko Ono has paid tribute to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's latest inductee Ringo Starr by dubbing the drummer "the most influential Beatle".

Starr became the final member of the group to be inducted as a solo artist in his own right at last night's ceremony at Cleveland's Public Hall, which saw Paul McCartney give a speech about his former bandmate. Also present was Ono, who made the surprising declaration about the 'It Don't Comes Easy' singer to Rolling Stone.

"No one is probably going to believe it but he was the most influential Beatle," ... Read more »

Barry Manilow BiographyIn terms of record sales and career longevity, Barry Manilow is one of the most successful adult contemporary singers ever. That success hasn't necessarily translated to respect (or even ironic hipster appreciation) in most quarters; instead, Manilow's music has been much maligned by critics and listeners alike, particularly the romantic ballads that defined his career, which were derided as maudlin schlock even during his heyday. It's true that Manilow's taste for swelling choruses and lush arrangements often bordered on bombastic, but unlike many of his MOR peers, Manilow wasn't aiming to make smooth, restrained background music: he conceived of himself as a pop entertainer and all-around showman in the classic mol ... "I've got nothing," says the British songwriter/multi-instrumentalist at the mere mention of the 26-year-old singer's name. "There are no clues."

He's understandably circumspect about his involvement. Since 21 has sold more than 10 million copies in the United States alone, according to Nielsen Music -- netting Epworth four Grammys in the process -- Adele has kept a low profile, leaving only stray gossip (Phil Collins told Britain's Q that she approached him to collaborate but then stopped returning his calls) and the occasional report from Ryan Tedder (who co-penned 21's "Rumour Has It") to hint at what might be in store for h ... The SpinnersThe Spinners were the greatest soul group of the early '70s, creating a body of work that defined the lush, seductive sound of Philly soul. Ironically, the band's roots lay in Detroit, where they formed as a doo wop group during the late '50s. Throughout the '60s, the Spinners tried to land a hit by adapting to the shifting fashions of R&B and pop. By the mid-'60s, they had signed with Motown Records, but the label never gave the group much consideration. "It's a Shame" became a hit in 1970, but the label continued to ignore the group, and dropped the band two years later. Unsigned and featuring new lead singer Phillipe Wynne, the Spinners seemed destined to never break into the big leagues, but they managed to sign with Atlantic Rec ... Read more »

BadfingerThere are few bands in the annals of rock music as star-crossed in their history as Badfinger. Pegged as one of the most promising British groups of the late '60s and the one world-class talent ever signed to the Beatles' Apple Records label that remained with the label, Badfinger enjoyed the kind of success in England and America that most other bands could only envy. Yet a string of memorable hit singles -- "Come and Get It," "No Matter What," "Day After Day," and "Baby Blue" -- saw almost no reward from that success. Instead, four years of hit singles and international tours precipitated the suicides of its two creative members and legal proceedings that left lawyers as the only ones enriched by t ... Bad Company 1974Formed in 1973, the British hard rock outfit Bad Company was a supergroup comprised of ex-King Crimson bassist Boz Burrell, former Mott the Hoople guitarist Mick Ralphs, and singer Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke, both previous members of Free. Powered by Rodgers' muscular vocals and Ralphs' blues-based guitar work, Bad Company was the first group signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song vanity label. Bad Company's eponymous 1974 debut was an international hit, topping the U.S. album charts and scoring with the number one single "Can't Get Enough of Your Love."

Straight Shooter, issued the following year, was another major success, notching the hit "Feel Like Makin' Love," while 1976's Run With the Pack was Bad Company's third consecutive million-selling record. After 1977& ... Read more »
